Helen Johnson, Physical Therapist Assistant

I grew up in Yorkshire, England with a very strong background in theater and dance. I danced from a very young age at a high competitive level. In my teen years I toured with National Youth Dance Company of Great Britain whilst also attending the London Contemporary Dance School, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and a scholarship to further study Dance at Harvard University (my first experience of the USA).

After performing and traveling for several years I met my husband – Mark, a native New Yorker. We have lived in Florida now for over 20 years and have a wonderful teenage son – Brandon. I graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant program in 2013 from Polk State College, and have had the pleasure of working at Hohman Rehab since 2017.

Work hard and play hard

“Let not one person take away your sparkle, shine bright and have a fabulous day.”

I help patients with balance, coordination, strength, stress reduction, mobility, safety, and functional task completion. The variety keeps me on my toes, but I love working with dancers.

I enjoy working at Hohman Rehab because the staff are amazing and I love the variety in conditions and the fact that we treat all ages from babies to geriatrics.
