Catie Saunders

Physical Therapist

Originally from a small town in southern Ohio, she began her healthcare journey at Ohio University, where she was accepted into the Athletic Training program as a freshman. During her undergraduate studies, she gained hands-on experience working with a variety of NCAA Division I athletic teams as a student athletic trainer.

After earning her undergraduate degree, she accepted a graduate assistant position at Marshall University, where she completed a Master’s degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in cardiac rehabilitation. She then returned to Ohio University to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Following graduation, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she began her career in outpatient orthopedics. Over the years, she expanded her clinical experience by working in a variety of settings, including acute care, a long-term acute care hospital, home health, and skilled nursing.

While living in Ohio, she also created a mobile physical therapy practice that allowed her to provide individualized care in clients’ homes. This experience gave her the opportunity to focus closely on each client’s specific goals while incorporating techniques such as dry needling when appropriate.

She is committed to continuing education and considers herself a lifelong learner. Most recently, she completed the foundational course in Integrative Dry Needling as well as continuing education in lower-extremity muscle energy techniques. She has also completed coursework in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) and vestibular rehabilitation, including the treatment of vertigo. She enjoys continuing to expand her clinical knowledge and values the opportunity to learn from other healthcare professionals and clinicians.

Her true passion is helping patients in the outpatient orthopedic setting improve their mobility, strength, function, and overall quality of life. That passion ultimately led her to Hohman Rehab & Sports Therapy, where she enjoys providing personalized, one-on-one care and helping patients work toward returning to the activities they enjoy.
